GORGEOUS, web-like sprays of the the rare, hydrated REE-Cu-arsenate Agardite adorn this wide pocket within a gossan matrix. Bright minty-green and lustrous, these slender Agardite needles are underlain by perfect, radial sprays of Brochantite, along with traces of Malachite. The Agardite and Brochantite complement each other to perfection. In truth, the Brochantites can't help but look like little, dark-green spiders spread out on the bright-green web. I love the interesting and highly engaging aesthetics of this excellent miniature from 2017 finds at this well-known Lavrion mine. Though MINDAT does not have this variety listed for the Christiana Mine, the type locality for the (Nd) variety is the nearby Hilarion Mine. Both Lanthanum and Cerium rich agardite exists here, and we are told that the Neodymium variety has a slightly more metallic, gracile and hair-like look to it as you see here.
