Aesthetic and impressive Azurite in unusually large textbook crystals for the great mines at Lavrion, Greece. Up to a significant 1.8 cm, these Azurites have excellent luster, fine form, and an attractive, deep-blue color combined with a translucency (when backlit) that we normally have seen only from a few pockets in Tsumeb or Morocco. Lavrion is famous for its wide variety of minerals, with the small puffs of electric-green Malachite being a classic association for many localities worldwide. These Azurites have an almost 'Moroccan' look to them, with the thin blades having good luster and a vivid, royal-blue glow thanks to the excellent translucence. From a small find in 2017, the Azurites with Malachite present well against the contrasting gossan matrix. Even better in person. Significant for the location.
