Clinohumite is a magnesium silicate that isn't particularly common, especially in good crystals like this! This is a gorgeous little crystal measuring 1.4 cm across and is a gemmy, bright yellow-orange with super thin, creamy yellow stringers running through it and there is a translucent, 7 mm, dark red Spinel embedded in one side for added interest and incredible color contrast! The luster of the Clinohumite is phenomenal and almost wet looking with somewhat rounded crystal faces and edges and only contacted at the bottom. The Spinel is a well-formed and lustrous with sharp edges. This duo makes for a showy and rare combination specimen from Burma or anywhere in the world! The Clinohumite glows a bright mustard-yellow in short wave UV and the Spinel fluoresces a bright red in long wave UV! This piece has a mass of 2.53 grams.
