This is a stunning, large, 77.43 ct, essentially eye-clean gem Aquamarine from Burma. It has perfectly cut table, crown, pavillion and girdle facets that enhance the play of light within this large stone, especially the pavilion facets around the bottom. The crown height is 4 mm, the pavillion depth is about 1.3 cm and the girdle is approximately 1 mm. This is a very nice stone with a sublime light sky-blue color that is very rare in this size for Burma! There are not many salable gems kept for the collection, as they were sold over the years as part of the larger business to pay for the travel and the mineral acquisitions. This was one of the few gems kept, because of the significance for the locality in the collection. Mark Mauthner photo.
