Exceptional! A single word for a single, almost totally gem, deep red, macle twinned Spinel crystal. This remarkable crystal has glassy, very well formed faces with a sharply defined macle twin plane around the middle. Minimal backlighting reveals how gorgeous and gemmy this crystal really is! This gem Spinel is about 90% transparent with incredibly rich, merlot-red color with dark, elongate inclusions internally through the middle largely in and around the twin plane. Several gorgeous Spinel gemstones could be cut from this crystal, but we won't let that happen! The edges are in great condition, as close to pristine as you could ask for with just a few tiny little dings or imperfections. This is a significant piece that Bill preserved for his collection and for posterity as an important gem Spinel crystal twin from Burma and was stored with the "gems" in the suite.
