This incomparable Spinel crystal consists of dozens upon dozens of small Spinel crystals in parallel orientation that have grown together to produce a big crystal that resembles a giant octahedral raspberry in form and color! This incredibly aesthetic mosaic Spinel crystal is made up of 2 to 8 mm, translucent, deep pink-red, octahedral crystal grown in parallel in every orientation! Individual crystals are octahedral and the overall, composite crystal is remarkably octahedral as well. This is another one of those specimen "gems" recognized for its uniqueness by Bill Larson on one of his many trips to Burma over the years. A truly extraordinary and geometric piece, hard to convey in flat photos only! It fluoresces a vivid red in long wave UV.
