A truly SUPERB Agardite from the Christiana Mine (or from anywhere!), this small-cabinet specimen was found in these ancient Greek mines in 2017. The lustrous, sharp needles of this rare, hydrated REE-Cu-arsenate create an exquisite spray, but their beauty is only half the story. In my experience, I'm not sure I have seen an Agardite quite like this, where the HUGE 1+ cm spray is virtually suspended from the sides of this partial pocket. It is protected and undamaged, 1.4 cm across overall. We've all seen pictures, at least, of bird nests and spider webs that are built in similar fashion, but to actually find an Agardite like this?!?! I started with 'superb', but find myself gravitating towards 'amazing' when it comes to describing the aesthetics and the form. Just take a close look at the photo... it should be one of the better examples of the species, even compared to the previous famous material from Tsumeb. In my experience, this is a richer, prettier, more metallic-style, and better than Tsumeb specimens we have handled over the last 30 years and more. It is a significant rarity, but also beautiful and quite eye visible.
