This is a really rare large matrix pegmatite combination specimen from Myanmar (Burma) consisting of a single Columbite-(Fe) crystal with a pair of Smoky Quartz crystals and some Albite rosettes on Microcline. The nicely formed Columbite-(Fe) crystal is black, submetallic and measures 2 cm tall and 2.4 cm wide and it stands to the right of a pair of satin lustred Smoky Quartz crystals that measure 3 and 4 cm, respectively. The Columbite-(Fe) and the Smoky Quartz crystals rest on a portion of a a pale pink (from a trace of iron staining) Microcline crystal. Several rosettes of of white, bladed Albite var. Cleavelandite accent the base of the Quartz crystals. The piece is well composed and well balanced and sits well on its own for display. Things like this simply were not readily saved at the time they came out (late 1990s) and this happens to be a specimen of great quality, regardless of where from.
