This is a prominent Aquamarine crystal (with a sidecar crystal) along with a secondary growth cluster of Aquamarine that dominate this piece from the classic locale of Chumar Bakhoor in Pakistan. The stout, columnar Aqua is 6.5 cm in height, measures 4.5 cm across at its widest and is incredibly glassy. Both sky-blue crystals are sharply formed with flat-topped pinacoid terminations that have small, modifying pyramidal terminations too. The big crystal is transparent at the top and transitions downward into a more turbid area that is a slightly more intense sky-blue. Its sidecar companion crystal jutting out the side is gem-clear. The side opposite the side car has an usual cluster of Aquamarine crystals that are a secondary growth atop of a larger, stubby Aqua crystal. This later stage growth has at least a dozen small Aqua crystals in from 0.4 to 1 cm across and are mostly in parallel growth - a nice accent. This is a well composed and well balanced piece with Aqua crystals of varying character. Chumar Bakhoor continues to produce some of the most exciting and interesting Aquamarine specimens and this one is quite unique in overall composition. 333 grams.
