Stunning, gemmy, unusually-tapered and terminated aquamarine crystal with muscovite from Shigar, Pakistan. Aquamarine crystals from Pakistan are not uncommon, but those with tapering terminations are the exception. This pale blue gem crystal consists of lustrous prism faces for the bottom three-quarters of then crystal then begins to gently taper to faintly etched, what may be pyramid faces subsequently terminated by a lustrous pinacoid face. For contrast and excellent composition, the aquamarine crystal is augmented by a small cluster of muscovite crystals at the base that are set off to one side. From the Herb Obodda collection and as per his style on such single crystals, attached with hot glue to a small round acrylic base.
