Perched aesthetically on a sulfide and quartz matrix, are two very well exposed and terminated, lustrous and translucent, rose-red rhodochrosite crystals, each measuring 2.1 cm across. Both crystals present a sharp and gorgeous front side, though the back sides are encrusted and have no luster. The coating in back might help to enhance the color in fact, as they really do have wonderful color. the balance and arrangement of these "twins" on matrix together is unusual and elegant, giving us a wonderful miniature. No restoration, no repairs, as is so common for this material these days, this is au naturale! A fine miniature, with some drama in how the crystals are displayed n a little pedestal of matrix.
