Azurite, Malachite
Tongshankou Mine (Tongchankou Mine), Edong Mining District, Daye Co., Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China
Small Cabinet, 6.8 x 5.2 x 3.5 cm
Highly lustrous, royal-blue to midnight-blue aggregates of azurite blades form a very showy, elongated, azurite "rose" from recent Chinese finds. This fine piece is a complete-all-around floater and is essentially pristine. Scattered bits of malachite (second photo) are a nice accent. Ex. Tarnowski Collection.
