- Malachite on Azurite
- Cabinet, 13.4 x 6.8 x 4.2 cm
- Liufengshan Mine, Anhui Province, China
Outstanding combination piece featuring primary Malachite on Azurite, from China. Often, you find Malachite in a secondary and minor role compared to the Azurite, but that is far from the case here. The large, velvety to shimmering, Malachite botryoids reach up to 3.2 cm across, and they literally dominate the landscape as they stretch across the Azurite-coated matrix. The pics do a fine job portraying just how dramatic and appealing the aesthetics are. Highly unusual style for the locality, and really for anywhere, this is from a small pocket of 2017.
