Vietnam aquamarine is known for, at its best, high saturation of color. This is a robust miniature crystal with strong and vibrant color. It is from old Vietnamese material from the early 2000s. The crystal grew as a contact against something else, giving it a wide shape with a smaller depth than width, which lets light pass through really well. It makes the crystal look more gemmy, to be a little less deep, as light can enter more easily. The crystal is entirely natural and in fact mine-run, without further cleaning or preparation, and nearly pristine. It measures 99 grams mass. The specimen comes, for free, with a sugarloaf cabochon cut stone measuring 13.5 carats as a companion.
