A superb, unusually euhedral and unusually large single crystal of Catapleiite associated with Albite and Analcime, this is very different from most others you might see (in addition to the huge size!). Mont Saint-Hilaire is one of the greatest contemporary classic localities in the world for its diversity of species as well as having the best-of-species title for many rare species not to mention being the type locality for almost 70 species which is absolutely remarkable! The big, peach-pink, pseudo-hexagonal Catapleiite crystal on this exceptional piece from the locality measures 4.5 cm across and is sharply formed around the top and sides and then slightly inter-grown with white Albite along with an undetermined dark colored mineral at the lower portion of the crystal. There is a moderately well-formed, off-white 2.5 cm Analcime crystal on the right side of the piece. This is an exceptional Catapleiite specimen and a great combination piece from Mont Saint-Hilaire. Most of them have a gray to white color, but this peach color really makes it jump out, and in our opinion is a much more desirable look, in addition to the rarity.
