A cluster of white Albite crystals is accented by a cluster of sharply formed, black Tantalite-(Fe) crystals. The Tantalite cluster consists of one larger and several smaller crystals. They are jet-black with a sub-metallic luster. The large crystal measures 2.2 cm in length and is lightly striated nearly perpendicular to its long dimension. The dark Tantalites are set on a contrasting cluster of lustrous, slightly translucent, porcelain-white Albite crystals that range in size from 1.5 to 3 cm - a sharp contrast in color and shape that really accentuates the metallic shiny Tantalite above. The matrix is host to other small clusters of Tantalite crystals at the lower left, rear corner. A showy and well-balanced small cabinet pegmatite combination specimen from this important gem producing region.
