Sweet Home Mine, Alma Mining Dist., Park Co., Colorado, USA
Miniature, 3.6 x 3.4 x 1.7 cm

Two exceptionally sharp, glassy, and gemmy, cherry-red rhodochrosite crystals are intergrown together in a floating cluster. They are extraordinary in quality, and this is likely from the mid-1990s when several such pockets were hit (and when the previous owner acquired it as a choice miniature). Only very minor edgewear is present on one crystal (the bottom as we would stand it) but does not detract from the absolute beauty of the specimen. The crystals are to 1 inch, or to 2.2 cm in length.
