Highly lustrous and transparent to translucent, rich red-orange colored Spessartine crystals cover the entire display side of this specimen from the renown Wushan Spessartine Mine in China. Dozens of fiery red-orange, trapezohedral crystals of Spessartine from 4 mm to 1.3 cm are tightly intergrown and canvas the top side of this lovely small cabinet piece, including a small group of Smoky Quartz crystals whose only vestige is the termination of a small crystal sticking out of the mound of Garnets. The Garnets are like interconnected gems that just glisten with any incident light. Outstanding quality! This is one of the finest, most saturated and sparkly examples we have seen, and comes from older material (late 1990s, early 2000s). It was long held in the personal collection of dealer Ken Roberts, a friend who preceded me in travels to China and built a fabulous collection of miniatures and small cabinet pieces. This is a quality that simply sparkles and stands above most others, it is just a bit better.
