This is a superb miniature of Ajoite included Quartz from South Africa! Turquoise blue patches of plumose inclusions of fine Ajoite crystals are prominent at the termination of a gemmy Quartz crystal attached to a knot of matrix from the famous Messina Mine. This is a very lustrous, mostly transparent, 3.8 cm, well-formed, UNPOLISHED, perfectly-terminated Quartz crystal hosting the included Ajoite, that clearly exhibits a nice internal phantoms at the termination. The Ajoite patches are irregular in shape and extend down into the prism faces. Even the small, incomplete Quartz sidecar crystals on the piece of matrix host dots of Ajoite! The very back of the Quartz crystal is contacted where it was attached to another Quartz crystal. This is truly an exceptional miniature by ANY standard for this locality.
