A saturated pink Rhodochrosite rhomb is perched on sparkling, tiny, white Quartz crystals from the American Tunnel Mine, one of the classic U.S. locales for the species. The translucent to opaque Rhodo rhomb measures 1.5 x 1.2 x 0.9cm and is perfectly formed. The Quartz occurs as two obvious, almost stalactitic protrusions with the tiny crystals radiating outward from the long axis. One could almost imagine a pink, block-headed, anthropomorphic, contemporary cartoon character brandishing a pair of Quartz lasers :-) Very aesthetic! Ex.
