Up until its closing in 1930, the Louise Mine produced a variety of Rhodochrosites in different habits. Here, the Rhodochrosite grows in crystalline botryoids, up to 1.1 cm, on a Limonite crust. The orange-red color is attractive, and the Rhodochrosite is translucent. This is a simple, aesthetic, and hard-to-find old-time classic from the Louise Mine in Germany. Formerly in the collection of W.S. Logan, it includes one of his superb labels.
