Totally covering one side of its manganite-rich host matrix are discrete crystals of lustrous and translucent, rose-red rhodochrosite crystals, to 1 cm across. In addition, small brownish black incrustations of goethite are present. An unusually sparkling and rich specimen of this rare crystal habit of lustrous scalenohedron, modified by rhombohedral terminations, characteristic of old finds here at this working silver mine. Ex. Dr. W.S. Logan Collection. Featured in his self-published book RHODOCHROSITE: Crystals of Drama and Nuance, page 117.
