An unusually rich, mounded up cluster of purple apatite, from a place where they are extremely rare: the gem pegmatites of Afghanistan. Perched nicely on crystallized, white cleavelandite are parallel growth, lustrous and translucent, rich purple colored crystals of fluorapatite. The clusters to 3 cm in length. A unique feature of the crystals is the apparent curved growth of some crystals, particularly at the termination of the cluster. The piece is complete all around, and sparkly. Rare for its richness, it sits nicely for optimal display.
