Here is a superb miniature sized specimen composed of two interlocking, tabular, geometric, pastel pink Fluorapatite crystals from the Kami Mine in Bolivia. This tin-tungsten mine in west-central Bolivia has produced some handsome Ferberite and Siderite specimens in combination with Quartz in the past and has recently been producing some lovely Fluorapatite crystals like this sumptuous specimen. These lovely pink crystals have classic tabular form showing broad flat pinacoid faces, bipyramid faces along with first and second order prism faces making for an exquisite pair. The Fluorapatites are transparent to translucent with great luster and measure 5.2 and 4.3 cm across, respectively. The large, flat, hexagonal pinacoid faces have a bit of a subtle texture due to numerous, low profile growth hillocks on their surface. The piece sits beautifully on its own for display! The crystals are pristine and only contacted at their mutual base where they were removed from the pocket. This is as fine a miniature as you can ask for of this rare material.
