Panasqueira is one of those amazing mines that has produced, on and off, for decades. It is most known for apatites, particularly purple apatite in various shades. Other colors are more rare, and other crystal shapes than flat hexagonal crystals are also fairly rare. This piece is a very dramatic miniature with unusual, elongated crystals soaring up out of a trimmed miniature matrix, and with purple fluorite in contrast. Very rare! The black material is muscovite, underneath. I have seen hundreds, maybe thousands of Panasqueira apatites, but this one caught our eyes when unpacking the Hefendehl collection (and stay tuned, we have 3 more pallets to bring to you over 2023-2025). For aesthetics, this is superb, and complete.
