The crystal atop this cluster is a full inch, and it is brethtakingly gemmy and colorful, set against contrasting geothite matrix. Wally only just traded this to me, and has owned it a number of years. We shared an opinion on the rarity of this piece: Scalenohedral crystals, you can get better from South Africa - one from this locality would always be inferior in worldwide context. However, this unusual modified scalenohedral form wit hthe flat terminal faces, THIS is much more unique to the locality and a truly great one (such as this) stands out a lot more in a collection even when plunked down next to your stereotypical NChwaning rhodo. 6 x 4.8 x 3.4 cm
