This morganite specimen looks like two pink glass shards, fused together in an artist's studio. It is an exquisite floater specimen, complete all around, with so much sparkle and reflectivity. Golconda is actually a group of nearby mines, and this is from one of them, probably from the 1960s-1970s. Bill Larson obtained a lot of old Brazilian material in the early days of the company Pala Intl, and kept such truly interesting beryls for a company collection designed to educate and inspire collectors. This specimen is a piece that stands out - it is simply different than most minerals and most beryls, and has that artistic look to it. It is 64 grams. Included is a cut morganite gemstone from the same material and the same mine, 7.3 carats (at no charge, included).
