Spessartine Garnet and Schorl on Albite
Shengus, Roundu Dist., Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
Miniature, 4.7 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm
SOLD

Fine, sharp, lustrous wine-colored crystals of spessartine to 2 cm, are perched on a stunningly contrasting matrix of white albite crystals here. Minor schorl is associated on the main display face, giving it a nice bit of accent, although a lot of lustrous schorl is on the backside and it is interesting on its own merit as a bonus. From modern finds of 2020. Sharp, lustrous spessartine from Pakistan is highly desirable, as most is heavily corroded for some reason.
