Obtained directly from the woman who collected these, this is a fancy quartz gwindel from an Alpine type deposit... in New Zealand! These are spectacular gwindel quartz specimens of Alpine Swiss quality, shockingly clear and with the internal brightness and sparkle that only the finest Swiss pieces ever achieve. If they were Swiss, there is a locality premium simply because so many people hoard and collect the things... and yet, this locality is much much more rare, and it is our first glimpse of such treasures from New Zealand. I was stunned when these came in, from a field collector. These two gem gwindels were found in March 2022, literally next to each other in the pocket, on the surface of an exposed weathered cliff face.
