Quartz-Hedenbergite combinations from the Huanggang Mine in Mongolia are sharp and dramatic and are among the best "prase" quartz known from worldwide locations. They are colored green by extremely fine Hedenbergite inclusions within the long, tapered, needle-like Quartz crystals and make for very attractive pieces like this one. This piece is an aggregate of three dramatic sprays of slender, moderately dark green Quartz crystals heavily included by Hedenbergite (called Prase or Prasem from the old Greek location of Serifos island, for whatever ancient reason, and often now marketed as particularly rare among the crystal healer communities, which is frankly not untrue). The lustrous crystals range from 1 to 3 cm in length and are only a few millimeters wide. This is a very pleasing piece with all Quartz points intact on the display front and only a few missing crystals from the extreme periphery and the bottom where it was attached. Really, quite eye-catching aesthetics, and a special elegance to this specimen.
