One of the smallest pieces in the group we present for sale from this remarkable find in China in early 2021 is also one of the flashiest: A generous coating of very clear, second generation calcite almost completely covers the first generation yttrofluorite-coated scalenohedrons. The luster and sparkle is phenomenal and will draw people's eyes to it in a case. As we said with some others in the lot to emphasize the point, Yttrofluorite isn't commonly purple and is usually found as a "pond scum" coating on minerals. This new find from China is a total surprise, and simply makes for a beautiful combination and style. We are not collecting this because of the rarity of purple coatings, but for the overall beauty of this combination, which seems unique in the world.
