This unusual, V-shaped Fluorapatite cluster from the famous Medina locality is complex and attractive, loaded with interesting angles to display. The Fluorapatite crystals are glassy and gemmy throughout, and their brilliance enhances the golden color. The cluster is actually fascinating in its structure. It is V-shaped, with crystals up to 2.1 cm near the one tip and in the core. The crystals have the typical yellow-white fluorescence. The Fluorapatites have a nice, tabular habit, and the aesthetics are quite good. Acquired by Kay in 1987, this is from early production at Medina. Better in person. I have not seen these on the market in a long time, and they turn up again only rarely from old collections.
