Mammoth-Saint Anthony mine, Tiger, Mammoth district, Pinal Co., Arizona, USA
Miniature, 5.0 x 4.0 x 4.0 cm
Ex. Dr. Mark Feinglos
A very rare, rich and super showy specimen from the type locality! Greenish-brown, radial prismatic crystals of macquartite to 1 mm are distributed in small vugs within a white matrix of quartz and calcite. Macquartite is a chemically complex copper lead chromate-silicate. A larger vug on the specimen contains brilliant green-blue, lustrous, divergent prismatic clusters of dioptase crystals to 3 mm, and orange blades of wulfenite to 3 mm. Beautiful!! Ex. Dr. Mark Feinglos collection with descriptive label.
