The Red Cloud Mine has arguably produced the world's finest wulfenite specimens, unarguably. The best and most famous were the old style from the late 1800s and early 1900s (as refound by Ed Over). This is a piece of such style, from the old days - though we cannot today say if it was from Ed Over finds in the 1930s or from the previous finds. It is the correct style, and I assume it to be an Ed over piece - fat, juicy, and really red compared to modern ones! This glassy and translucent specimen features a bright reddish orange wulfenite crystal, measuring 2.5 cm in length, perched on a bit of ocherous limonite. It has stunning luster. It is nearly pristine, with only a few tiny dings. It is a full-sized thumbnail with a huge color impact.
