This specimen has the to-die-for waxy luster and intense green color of the most famous style from Les Farges, dating back now over 40 years. It is a gorgeous spray of crystals, one atop the other, with unusually large and well-isolated extended and hoppered crystals sticking up like elements of a crown. This piece is all about the COLOR. Most simply do not have this. The specimen is a full miniature and displays well. There seems to be only a slight (natural) wear or contact in the center-right side of the piece, but this is hidden beneath the large crystals atop and in a cavity, and to the far right side of the display view in any case. With such old classics, which come back to market only very rarely, it is simply nearly impossible to get a perfect specimen. This one has more robust crystals, color, and eye appeal than most others; and looks incredible in a case. You can tell a at glimpse that it is not Chinese or Idaho. Many people consider these old Les Farges pyros to be, simply, the best. Joe Budd photos.
