Cerussite Included By Linarite & Posnjakite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Miniature, 3.6 x 3.5 x 0.7 cm

This unusual tabular crystal of cerussite exhibits two most unusual copper mineral inclusions, both linarite and posnjakite. Much of the cerussite crystal exhibit adamantine luster and translucence, so it is very aesthetic. The darker blue inclusions are linarite and the greenish blue inclusions are posnjakite, an uncommon hydrated copper sulfate. Beautiful, and rare! Although repaired twice, the repairs are clean and are hard to see (and the price would otherwise be tripled, as well). From the well-known Willy Israel collection, which I handled in 2008 or so.
