Delightfully arranged, this cabinet-sized specimen features a cluster of Cerussite crystals sitting perfectly within an open, Goethite pocket. The Cerussite cluster has bladed crystals to over 1 cm, with a high luster enhancing both the gemminess and the striations. The Goethite grades from massive growth in the outer half to specular, mammiliform crystallization for the inner half. The radial growth is attractive and interesting, and the inner surface of the pocket (do pockets have outer surfaces, anyway?) has the classic, kidney ore appearance seen with iron oxides such as Goethite or Hematite. Cerussite is largely complete, with a few small bits of damage you have to squint to see, within the cluster. Combine this developing growth pattern with the remarkable and surprising Cerussite cluster within the interior, and you have a cool and aesthetic large specimen. Better in person.
