These Cerussite twins from the Kombat Mine are classics from the 1960s and early 1970s; and not many good ones are preserved and even fewer are in good condition. At two and one-quarter inches in length and over an inch in width, and almost the same in depth, with distinct gemminess, it displays very nicely and is a competition quality specimen. It has superb adamantine luster on all of the crystal faces with the subtle V-twin noted in front and the sides show intriguing stepped growth. The Cerussite is almost completely gem save a couple of small cloudy areas in the bottom half. There are two small conchoidal fractures at the base of the piece. This Cerussite twin exhibits all the best qualities of the species from this deposit: it has glassy luster and gemminess combined with a lovely elongated heart shape. It displays very well, especially when lit properly so the light reflects inside and comes out with a rainbow colors. There is one, very small, professional restoration on the piece performed by Mineralogical Collection Professionals. Otherwise, remarkably pristine for something so soft and old. 212 grams.
