Four large and two small Cerussite crystals are set on a nearly solid matrix of Duftite from the Tsumeb Mine in Namibia, a classic assemblage. The Cerussite crystals range in size from 0.5 to 2.6 cm in length and one is doubly terminated. An interesting and unusual aspect about these Cerussites is that none of them are twinned! The crystals are elongate prismatic, transparent to translucent with an attractive smoky tan hue to them. All of them are well terminated and have good luster, however, the crystals are slightly etched. The pistachio green matrix is composed almost entirely of porous Duftite that reveals microcrystals of the mineral under a loupe or microscope! A real oddity from Tsumeb and out of the Shields and Frances Flynn collection.
