Red Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts, La Paz Co., Arizona, USA
Thumbnail, 2.1 x 1.7 x 0.7 cm
A gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, reddish-orange wulfenite crystal beautifully set on a thin crust of drusy calcite from the last hurrah of the renowned Red Cloud Mine - the 2003 Red Gem Pocket. Note the unusual crystal habit, characteristic of this pocket but present in only about 5 % of the several hundred pieces removed. The sharp tabular crystal is 1.3 cm across and has striking sharp beveled edges. Classic material from this now-closed locale.
