Wulfenites are prized by collectors, as they are rare in good crystals, and so any new find causes a lot of excitement. This find in CHINA around a year or so ago, as covered in the Mineralogical Record, was the source of a huge stir, and for good reason: fine specimens such as this, with deep red, lustrous crystals, are just so rare worldwide! While in general this find was nowhere near what came out of the Red Cloud for quantity or quality, specimens such as this one do have really superb crystals with that great red color, here to around 0.6 cm, and are prized as important new locality pieces.
