Beryl is the family name for several different variations of crystal forms, many of which are commonly recognized throughout the world, including aquamarine (blue), heliodor (golden yellow), emerald (green) and morganite (light pink). Other less familiar variations include goshenite (clear), rosterite/vorobyevite (blue), and bixbite (red).
Beryls can be found throughout the world, but different localities are notable for different species and the difference in color is a result of trace amounts of other elements that radically change how they look.
