Cassiterite from the famous Ping Wu Mine or beryl mine on Xuebaoding Mountain is one of the most famous minerals from China. These are definitely best in the world for the species at the size and this is a truly superb specimen for its display aesthetics. As it stands vertically, it is featuring a flower of the most striking and jet black crystals, perched atop a natural pedestal of muscovite! The look is very special and seldom seen as these usually occur broken off of or embedded in matrix, with few such elegantly freestanding sprays. It is likely an old era specimen, pre-2008 (and I purchased it in China long ago). The luster and sheer saturation of black combine with the display qualities to make this special. Note that it is not complete 360 degrees, or it would be far more expensive of course. However, it is complete on the display face and looks like it is worth far more from the front. It has a huge display impact.
