When these shocking neon green pyromorphites first came out of China (circa 2016 if I recall), nobody knew where they came from! Initially we were told Guilin (the old Daoping Mine). Later, we were told Guangdong Province. And finally, we learned they were from a well known mine in Hunan, that had simply never ever produced pyromorphite before. I (Rob) have been underground here multiple times and NEVER seen a speck of green, only quartz and fluorite. It is a large, huge, polymetallic deposit mined for ores and where fluorite is the best known mineral byproduct for us. Pyro had never been seen. At the time, the best pieces, with this pure apple neon color, were priced more than their weight in gold even when they came out, and then priced even higher in a "pyro run" on prices as multiple investors in China piled in, thinking they would sell them to westerners at insane prices. Finally, the market came back to earth. This is one which dates to the earliest finds, and is one of the larger specimens in good condition with such pure and crisp color. It is so beautiful in person, hard to convey by remote!
