These unusual crystals of wulfenite seem to be glassy, and layered in growth, and make a very beautiful specimen with hundreds of crystals in a protected natural pocket that has been preserved intact. They are classic "sandwich style" wulfenites but are not from Los Lamentos where such things were widely seen in the past, but from Ojuela, where this style (and the more yellow color) are very rare indeed. They are one of the very rarest of all styles from Ojuela, which has yielded wulfenite of a huge variety for decades. The Avila collection suite of Ojuela wulfenite specimens here represents that breadth and depth in a single collection, with generally only 1-2 examples of each pocket or style he thought was worthy. This is a highly visual piece with lots of interesting patterns and lines, as you hold it in person.
