Avila loved quartz but great quartz is actually rare from Mexico! This was one of a very few that he kept for his personal collection of choice aesthetic small cabinet specimens from a large discovery a few years ago: He often kept one nice example of major discoveries for himself, as he did here. This is a fairly rare specimen in terms of quality for the sharpness and clean lines, and lack of muddy color. It is a skeletal Quartz crystal that is also doubly terminated, and with interesting clay inclusions that are uniquely beautiful and have subtle patterns in person. The quartz is lustrous, translucent to transparent with glassy crystal faces completely around the entire crystal. From finds of about 2019-20, and a pristine floater!
