Ruben Avila was one of the sources for this rich trove of amazing, unique Ojuela mine production between 2005-2015 in particular, and was right on top of this find of unusual wulfenite crystals when they came out. This specimen, from a 2008-2009 discovery, features unusually robust, thick, long crystals to just over 2 cm at longest, showing the bipyramidal terminations that make this find so special among other wulfenite finds here at the famous Ojuela Mine. Having handled thousands of specimens from this large discovery, of all qualities, this was the one he kept for his personal collection of choice aesthetic small cabinet specimens. Avila then passed on the rest of the finds to American dealers. He often kept one nice example of major discoveries for himself, as he did here. For what it is, it has more richness, color, and structure than most of these.
