Glassy and translucent, attractive, light pink crystals of hemimorphite, to 3 cm in length, totally cover their matrix on this superb miniature. They are fine on their own, but as you look closer, you realize that the little gems richly draping them are actually transparent, faceted-looking gem calcite crystals! A highly unusual association, and particularly beautiful upon closer inspection. The color of the hemimorphite, slightly red in places, is due to minute hematite inclusions.
