Emplaced aesthetically on a stalk of matrix is a flowerlike crystal of frosted and translucent, doubly-terminated, ivory colored calcite, measuring 9 cm across. This crystal is perched on a thin layer of a sparkling, iridescent sulfide. This is a HUGE calcite crystal for Tsumeb! It is actually complete all around and in excellent condition with only very minor edge wear. The whole exposed faces and edges of the crystal are intact, and complete. There is a small contact or damage only in the lower-front, hard to see. Overall, we just do not see such big, freestanding calcites from Tsumeb and this is an important locality specimen. More imposing in person because it has a sparkle that is hard to capture in photos..
