Olmiite
N'Chwaning II Mine, KMF, Northern Cape, South Africa
Miniature, 4.1 x 2.4 x 2.3 cm
Ex. Bill & Anne Cook
SOLD

This sharp cluster of peach-colored olmiite has high luster and an amazing sparkle to it. It is a classic of the early 2000s production of this very weird species, which previously was super rare and known only as micros until a huge find of thousands of specimens in the Kalahari. These came to market and have now mostly disappeared, twenty years later. Even at the time they were briefly plentiful, this would have been a fine miniature for the combination of color, luster, and placement on matrix of a beautifully shaped spherical aggregate of crystals, which measures just under an inch. Bill and Anne Cook would have bought this at that time.
